Buying Coins On Sale
Optional, and it stays optional. This is where most of the extra money is and where all of the risk is. Read it as something to consider after a few months, not as the next step after week one.
Before You Spend Anything, At Any Site
Three conditions. All of them, and site by site rather than in general.
- You have already cashed out from that site. Not from some site: from this one. Until it has paid you, you do not know that it pays.
- You know which game clears the playthrough there and what it returns. Test it with the site's free gold coins first, where nothing is at stake. A purchase is a bad moment to discover the good game is missing.
- It is money you can afford to lose. This is a purchase, not a deposit. There is no version of this where the balance is guaranteed.
What Makes A Sale Worth Taking
Sites run coin sales constantly and most of them are not worth taking. My floor is 30% extra coins. Below that the promotion is not paying you enough to bother, and another one is along next week.
The number I actually decide on is the return: what I expect back for what I put in, given the sale rate and the return of the game I will clear it with. If that does not come to 130%, I skip it. Sales come round on a cycle, so there is no such thing as a last chance.
First-purchase offers are the exception worth waiting for: typically 100% to 200% extra, one per site, gone once you've used it. Spend it at a site that's already paid you, at the size you actually want, rather than burning it on a $5 test.
The Risk, Plainly
Free bonuses cost you nothing but time. A purchase is your own money, and it is exposed to the one bad outcome this whole thing has: an account closed with a balance inside it. It is uncommon. It does happen, and the bigger your purchases the more it costs when it does.
That's why purchases belong on a credit card, never a debit card or bank transfer — Freebies And Credit Cards covers why. It's also why purchase size should scale with how long a site has been paying you, not with how good this week's sale looks.
If you never buy a single coin package, the daily routine still works. It is slower. It is also free.
